Biggest Loser: Help Wanted
Help Wanted: Popular prime time television show seeking creative thinker to develop fitness challenges that will capture and maintain the interest of viewers. If your idea of a great challenge is having contestants stand around for more than 10 consecutive minutes, this is not the job for you.
Oh my gosh! I don't think I can handle one more of these freaking boring challenges. Seriously, are these contestants so out of shape that they can't handle a challenge that includes more movement than switching arms? Take tonight's hold-the-bar up challenge and put it in any sorority house and you'd have people calling hazing by the end of the first hour -- fuhgeddabout 4+ hours.
But boring or not, my gals in purple prevailed and won immunity. And thank goodness they did. What the heck happened to them this week? Maybe knowing they had immunity had them snitch a few extra bites at lunch and work out just a little less hard in the gym? I'm hoping next week they rebound with some good-enough-to-keep-them-here numbers.
Kudos to Blaine and Filipe for the gentlemanly gesture of letting Mandi have the visit from her family, even though her weepy plea was more than a little annoying.
I have to say that I'm not upset with the show's outcome tonight. Blaine has done a great job and obviously is keeping up the good work at home. Besides, with four little kids -- including a newborn -- at home, that's really where he should be. And how cute was that little bald-headed baby?!
So, back to the topic of ho-hum challenges...my Annie has suggested a grocery carry. Contestants would bag and carry groceries. The one who gets the most groceries across the finish line when time is up wins that amount of groceries when they go home. I thought that was a great idea!
If you were a producer for The Biggest Loser, what challenge would you include in upcoming episodes?

Amy, I stayed up late to see your entry about the Biggest Loser! I missed you last week!
Yes, that challenge was oh so very boring! I was happy the purple team won and a good thing they did!
Did I miss something or was there only one challenge this week? I did miss the first 15 minutes of the show tonight, so I didn't know how Mandi got the visit from her family. And speaking of Mandi...
OK, ENOUGH with the crying jag all the damned time, Mandi! Sheesh! I think I've had enough of the Yellow team and the Green team.
My daughter is rooting for Pink team and I'm for the Purple team.
Concerning last week... you need to watch last week's episode. All I'm gonna say is it was good to see Joelle gone.
Is Tara from the Green team becoming more and more like Vickie or is it just me?
Love the grocery challenge idea!
I watched it last night on tape and was shocked during the challenge. When the blue team got eliminated, as they were walking off I saw a pink team member switch hands! This was after Alli said they had to stop switching hands. Turned out to not matter as they fell out later, but still!
I don't think Tara has quite reached Vicki status, yet. She is getting annoying though.
I love the blue team. They're like giant teddy bears. :)
Now that you mention it, I saw the hand switching too! I was wondering why they weren't disqualified for it.
I just found your blog and I love it, awesome.
oooh you are a purple team fan, lol, I am a green team fan and black and brown, blue but not purple. lol Kristin gets right on my nerves, I like her mother and hope they both do well of course, however Krisin was annoying me last night. I agree with you about Mandi, however it must be very hard to go through what all of them are going through and we are only seeing what they want us to see, only what they thinks makes good tv. I do like Mandi, actually I like most of them and wish them all success. Keep up your awesome blog, look forward to reading more. I do not think that Tara is anything like "Viki" not even close, I don't think anyone will be quite like "viki", lol.
Funny, I have exactly the opposite reaction to Tara. I see her as extremely positive. I think what I see as a healthy competitive streak some see as aggressive.
There is no one I don't like this year. Some I like better than others, but I truly enjoy watching them all succeed.
BTW - I pretty sure you will see a big difference with Purple next week. Water anyone?
I don't really care for Tara, but I don't think of her as a Vicki-type, anyway. She's so much more up-front about her feelings, where Vicki (mostly) hid behind that creepy smile.
I was thrilled to see Bob's team NOT listen to him, and to send Blaine home. Yes, they had TONS of reasons not to listen to Blaine either, but... well, I'm all about house-happy. Going along w/ Blaine's wishes will hopefully help keep the house mood happy. I really don't like to see this bunch yelling at each other.
Good to have the Fourth Frog back!
The stand on a brick challenge was pretty boring too!
Can I ask for a review of last weeks Biggest Loser? I missed your post last week and would love to hear what you thought about it!
Amy was soaking up the sun in the Caribbean last week, so she wasn't here for The Biggest Loser. How lucky is that!
