Authentic Bethlehem

When I picked Annie up from a retreat at a church last night, I saw this sign hanging in several places. Note that "You'll taste, see and smell what daily life was like when Jesus was born." An authentic Bethlehem experience. Then read the information in parenthesis.

bethlehem

Shepherds, wisemen and Santa? Guess I missed the appearance of the jolly fat guy in the Christmas story all these years!

What a laff-riot. I wonder if the reindeer will also be there? Hope they don't pick on the donkeys.
Gotta love the church people mistakes...this one should make a classic list somewhere....

Smell? Ugh. At the most polite, that would not be myrrh and frankincense for the most part.

There's a great Walk Through Bethlehem, sans Santa, in Carmel at 126th & Gray - St Marks Methodist Church. I saw they were setting it up this weekend- it runs next weekend, and very well done.

I've also heard good things about St. Mark's!

What do you mean Santa wasn't there?? My mom has that little figurine of Santa kneeling by the manger... I think he brought the gift of peppermint?

OMIGOSH!!! lol! Do they not perceive the irony? I mean, we all know that St. Nicholas wasn't around until somewhere in the 340s A.D., right? And cameras weren't invented then! Silly people!
