Truth be told

The thing about blogging is that I owe it to readers -- and to myself -- to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly. So that's what I've done on the Better U and Fit City blogs this week, owning up to my weekend:

Fit City: How well do you bounce?

BetterU: Confession

Oh, it's nothing tragic. Just a bump in the road. But it's my reality and I'm owning it.

Aw, hon...thanks for your honesty. It sounds like you've definitely bounced. And look, I'm not saying that I am TOTALLY ON BOARD with the exercise thing because I am physically handicapped and full of self-pity, even though my handicap is not devastating and we do have a family membership to the YMCA that everyone else uses several times a week, but....

Because I've been watching what I eat more carefully, I was recently able to cut my medication for Type II diabetes in half. My doctor is rocky pleased with me.

That....sparked something. I'm not sure what, yet, but reading about your Better U doings has been a real inspiration.

This happens to me after almost every good weigh in. I start to feel like I must have some awesome metabolism & calories won't apply to me.
WRONG. :(
You're not alone. Sad but true, I need to aim to eat healthy ALL the time and exercise most days. If I take more than one day off in a row, I do start to gain. I gain quickly.

Thanks for the honesty. It's a great opportunity to grow, and I'm sure you'll remember this feeling w/ the next temptation. Holding yourself accountable like this can be priceless.

You are inspiring. Keep it up! I can't wait for those before & after pictures. :) (that you BETTER post, or I'll drive myself to your house w/ my own camera!)
