A story problem

question Pictures, Images and Photos

The Question:
Robbie is a 6-year-old boy who weighs 58 pounds and is 48 inches tall. His mom is a 38-year old woman who weighs X pounds, is 62 inches tall and has 95% heartburn. If Robbie climbs in his mom's bed, which is 76 inches wide, and proceeds to sleep at a 90 degree angle to the top of the bed approximately 1/3 of the way from the edge of the bed, where does that leave his mom?

Blogging on the couch at 3:40am

You are hilarious! My 4-year old climbs in bed with us every night. Last night, she asked "am I in trouble?" I sleepily said "no..." She said, while shaking her head..."I've really gotta quit doing this to you.."

Oh! I thought this was going to be a story problem, solving for X.

I guess not.

@Terri -- If she only knew how many times she'll be saying that in the next few years...

@Varangianguard -- Well, it started out that way, but blogging at 3:40am left me a little confused.

This cracks me up girl. Thanks for always giving my day a smile when I come here. Love your humor! We had the four of us in bed all together the other night after that helldacious Indiana storm that blew threw. UGH! I didn't sleep a wink! Can totally feel your pain! Oh and Math problems - especially math "story" problems...well, I need a tutor for those. Ha ha! I'm horrible with math let alone the story problems. You should have seen me this year trying to help Brennen with 4th grade mathmetics. Not a pretty sight!

Hugs girl!

I feel your pain. Our 5 year old continues to do this to us. *sigh*

Loved this! I too have a 6 year, who is about 52 pounds, but he likes to sleep at a 90 degree angle in middle of our bed, with his head in my back and his feet tucked under Hubby, or vice versa, lol. I always remember it's time to trim toe nails when he wiggles his feet under me.

my ten year old finally quit doing this at christmas time. thank god. but it took getting a 3 month old chihuahua puppy that i crated next to my bed with serious nepoleon syndrom and growled when my child came into the bedroom in the middle of the night. i kept finding him sprawled out in the chair in the living room. i finally asked and he told me that biskit was growling at him so he thought it was time to stop. wish i'd known that sooner; i'd got a "killer" dog a long time ago.

That is exactly why my kids don't sleep with me anymore!
