Now that's love
I was lamenting the fact that despite all my working out and weight loss, I'm not dropping clothing sizes as quickly as I would hope.
Mike replied, as only a husband or a very, very good girlfriend should be allowed, "I think you're not considering how tight your clothes were before."
Ha! I think there was a compliment, or at least the attempt at a compliment, in there somewhere. It's a good thing I've known him for 20 years -- long enough to know he was coming from a place of love.
Otherwise, it might have been an occasion for a Valentine's Day massacre.

Now that is just funny... and sad... and...
He was trying. I can totally see Jeff saying that from a logical point of view- not because he ever thought my clothes were tight. But just the logical start point.
I know that my clothes are fitting the same, even though I'm improving. I also know that I don't buy myself new clothes so my clothes have worn and stretched a bit...
Ha! That was like Stretch a few weeks ago while we were watching BL. I commented that I wasn't big enough for BL. He responded with "Who says?" Um. Yeah. Of course, I knew he meant that I could do anything I set out to do, but there was just no saving what he actually said.
I have been married for 49 years and my husband still comes up with some classics. Thankfully I am getting old enought I don't remember them for very long. :O! Any sentence that begins with "Did you know your.....?" is going to be a humdinger! Sigh!
I guess if in most other ways they are good guys, we can let a few misspeaks pass. But it sure is fun to skewer our husbands for them, isn't it?
