I refuse to believe it.
Massive storm ahead.
Winter storm warning.
Snow. Ice.
WHATEVER!
I refuse to believe it until I am knee deep in snow or slipping my way down the icy driveway to collect the mail. It's not that I don't like snow. In fact, I desperately want to be snowed in. It's a throwback to my stay-at-home mom days when wintry weather meant that I could stay in the house for days on end, leaving the driving to Mike and smiling as I looked out on inches of snow while I sipped hot chocolate.
We've had plenty of snow this winter, but not enough to shut us in. Just enough to be a nuisance.
I've been trying to ignore the weather updates that show up in my Facebook newsfeed and only listening with half an ear to the weather reports on the local news. I refuse to let those dang weather people get my hopes up.
To be fair, the guy on NBC tonight did suggest that there is a chance that all we will get here is rain. But while he was saying that, my eyes were focusing wistfully on the swath of blue indicating that northwest Indiana and the Chicago area could get anywhere from 12 to 24 inches of snow.
Am I nuts or what?

I wouldn't mind being shut in- if my job would actually go for the idea that people can truly be shut in! This might be a big test for our new corporate culture of 3M...
We're looking for 6.6 inches of snow today here in the Colorado Rockies.
We'd LOVE 2 feet though!
Sadly, our snow will be gone in about two days.
Stay SAFE!
They're saying the same for us. I hope for once they're right! Just get it NOW, not any closer to my due date, and make it a great one. Get it done & over w/. ;) And enough to make not just schools close, but my dh be home from work, too. The rest is like you said-a nuisance.
I only need to buy more hot chocolate first. Thanks for the reminder!
I've been wishing for the same thing ... except I live in East TX so I probably will never be snowed in LOL.
As a former Midwest girl who now lives in Florida, would you believe that I miss snow? I look back fondly on those no school snow days, too. Now it takes a hurricane for things to stop around here. And having been through a Cat. 5 a few years ago, I much prefer the snow! ;)
Thanks for your sweet encouragement on my blog last week. Raising teens is hard, but I'm gonna make it! :)
Thank you for sharing this kind of nice post with an above average matter, this form of wonderful ability you have got.
