Biggest Loser: Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!

BL upside down

Remember how boring last week's Biggest Loser episode was? Well, I thought tonight's flipped the show on its head. It was funny and interesting and fun to watch.

First of all, the challenges were way better. I loved the mountain/key challenge, even if my knees were hurting just watching Ron try to make it to the top and back down again. The rowing challenge was also better than last week's "watching people stand around" events. I did have a hard time figuring out what would throw someone into yellow. Was it speed? Or force? or something else?

I am beginning to see Bob as a puppet master with candy. He lures folks in with his sweet and sensitive ways and then pulls their strings to make them do what he wants them to do. I was surprised how peeved he was to find out that his team did not vote Dane off the ranch.

Jillian was cracking me up -- "We're gonna keep this up until someone drowns or until I can see you lose weight before my eyes!" And I think she was dead serious.

And you know what else happened this week? I found myself liking Tara. Don't get me wrong -- the purple team is still my favorite. But for the first time, I could see Tara as intense, rather than obnoxious. I do still find it a little curious how she is always the one throwing up.

As a mother, I totally would have given up my spot for my daughter and can't believe that Helen and Shanon made the decision they did. At the elimination, Shanon seemed like she regretted that decision. I was quite frankly surprised that the other players honored her wish, although part of me wonders if that was a little scripted to accommodate some required court appearance.

This was definitely an episode that I could watch and enjoy again.

I missed the entire first hour and it was all for nothing! (more about that after I read your synopsis).

Oh Shanon SO regretted that decision! Do you think her mother talked her into it? or guilted her into it, off camera?

OK, now I have to end this here, and read about the court thing?????
but I will be back!

OH!!! It was Shanon who got arrested? I thought it was Laura on the green team! And Shanon is 30? I thought she was in her early 20s!

I need to watch the entire episode to see what I missed.

I missed the first hour because my daughter and I went grocery shoping, only to come home emoty-handed. We decided to make a run to the store and be home in time for the weigh-ins. So we shop and we're checking out and I swipe my check card, and it was declined!!! FOUR TIMES!! So I go to the ATM and it won't let me make a withdraw! I had $800 in that account. My ex and my daughter deposited a $1500 support check in there on Saturday. I was afraid the check had bounced (which is nuts because he makes lots of money) The only thing I can think of is I must have some kind of daily limit on the check card usage for today. This has never happened to me before! So now I have to go back to the grocery store and re-purchase $125 worth of groceries (maybe less if my kid isn't with me)

Wasn't it Laura who was throwing up during the key race? I swear I get those two confused all of the time, but do they really need to show that? There are ways of getting the point across that she is tossing her cookies without having us watch the gruesome act each and every time! Plus, didn't Tara say the "F" word during the key race? It didn't even sound like they tried to bleep it! I rewound it on my DVR and me and my husband listened a second time and we both agreed that she did.

Oh and I really wasn't to disappointed that Shanon went home. I don't dislike her but I don't really care for her either. I knew pink team would end up under the yellow line since they got too lax about having a key to the gym.

And that girl, Kristin, is like a machine, man! She is bigger than me and I know I couldn't do a quarter of what she does... much less do it and talk and try to keep her mother motivated to continue!

I think Shanon was home when the flour incident occured and so I do not believe that was scripted in. She looks great now and I am not sure at all about why Helen did not insist that she stay. That seems way too odd.
